Paws for CharityPaws For Charity & Art Book Project

Several local area artists are featured in the 2010 Paws For Charity Art Book Project. These artists and photographers were selected from over 300 submissions and appear in the second annual Paws For Charity Art Book along with 60 other featured artists from 7 countries. The project is unique, in that it celebrates our connection with our pets and raises funds for a human cause. The 75 page book contains 96 images and is a fundraising project for breast cancer charity.  Proceeds from all sales are donated to the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade, a registered charity with programs in over 50 countries. Greeting cards and wall calendars will be available in the coming months.

Paws For Charity was created in 2006 by current Upper Branch resident Sara Harley. Since that time, with the help of many people along the way, she has raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer charity. “I started the Paws For Charity Art Book project in 2009 to combine two of my passions...raising funds for breast cancer charity (my mom died of breast cancer when I was 21)...and my love of animals. Animals bring us such great joy, in good times and bad. I created this book to celebrate our bond with our pets, and to raise funds for an important cause.” - Sara
